Today, Health Volunteers Overseas announced the appointment of two new members to the HVO Board of Directors – Dr. Richard Henker and Ms. Helen Cherrett.
The appointment of these two new leaders – and the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday – afford a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the many contributions that have made the work of Health Volunteers Overseas possible.
The HVO Board of Directors is a talented group of individuals who use their knowledge and experience to accomplish HVO’s mission to improve global health through the education of the health workforce in resource-scarce countries. They commit time and resources to ensuring the organization operates efficiently and effectively to provide health workers with the knowledge and skills they need to care for patients in their communities.
In addition to the efforts of our leadership, HVO succeeds because of the support of our members and donors. These individuals invest in the mission of HVO – making it possible for us to answer requests for support and recruit volunteers to educate providers where they are most needed.
I am so grateful for the contributions of our leaders, members, volunteers and donors. Thank you to all who have contributed to our global health community.
