If you have questions about these opportunities, please contact your volunteer placement coordinator.

Fundraise for Your Trip

Mightycause.com
HVO partners with Mightycause, an online fundraising site, to help you raise money to offset trip expenses. Family and friends can contribute to your trip and receive a tax deduction for their contribution! Contact your volunteer placement coordinator to find out how you can get started.

Non-HVO Funding Opportunities

These are funding opportunities that we have come across that may be of interest to volunteers. Please note that these opportunities are administered by independent organizations and are not run by or affiliated with Health Volunteers Overseas.

For nursesOne Nurse at a Time makes scholarship funds available to nurses to offset some trip costs.  Scholarships of up to $1,000 per person per mission/trip may be awarded and are limited to one per nurse each calendar year. Visit their website to learn more.

For residents: The American Women’s Hospitals Service (AWHS) Overseas Assistance Grant program provides travel grants for medical students and residents working in clinics around the world.
