Cambodian Countryside

Policies

Health Volunteer Overseas requires that all volunteers demonstrate the highest standards of professional and personal conduct at all times. Sensitivity to cultural and social beliefs and practices of the host country should guide professional and personal behavior.

Along with this requirement, there are some general policies HVO has put in place to ensure our organization and volunteers work in a safe, ethical, and productive way. With the approval of our Board of Directors, HVO has adopted the following policies. If you plan to volunteer with HVO or raise funds on our behalf, we urge you to review them:

HVO SAFETY POLICY

The purpose of this policy is to highlight HVO’s concern for the safety of our volunteers and inform them of the steps we take in regards to their safety and security.

HVO FUNDRAISING POLICY

The purpose of this policy is to provide guidance and information about raising money for a volunteer trip and/or an HVO project site.

HVO POLICY ON VOLUNTEERS & CLINICAL RESEARCH

The purpose of this policy is to assure that any clinical research undertaken by an HVO volunteer is conducted in a manner that is both ethical and transparent.
